Partial embossing Cuttlebug with my modifying folder pad

Hi, I thought I would share with you my new way of partial embossing

I have used the Stylized Flower folder and made a modifying folder pad (MFP) which gives a whole new look to the original pattern.

If you would like to know just how I achieved this, pop over to ikki's Cuttlebug Cupboard where you will find a tutorial on using this method of embossing.

This should have been for the PB Challenge, but...

I started this card for the PB challenge where the remit was to use NO patterned paper.

I began experimenting with my CB bells folder and at last managed to emboss three patterns without the folder's edge marking the card. Hooray! I achieved this by making a slightly smaller shape than the folder and adding extra thickness until it would emboss without using the top B plate. I then tape the numerous shims together to give me a permenant template, which I have written on in the hope that I will not lose it! This done, I decided to chalk the white linen card with red, gold and white glimmer.
I was so carried away by my sucess at embossing that at this point I forgot what
the card was for and so added a delightful funny porcelain image that a friend had salvaged from her last year's Chrissy cards. I thought I would return it to her reborn so to speak. But, alas it should have been a Penny Black image!!!!
Never mind, I have until Saturday to tried again and will try to remember what I'm supposed to be doing!
Thanks for dropping by.

Need a laugh and a warning - read on....

Hi, I'm back on line and thought I'd give you all a laugh and also a warning. Just before my pc went 'funny' I was on the lookout for a particular Penny Black sentiment stamp. Wanting, as crafters do, a good buy I googled Penny Black and found numerous sites. I clicked on several and had a look round but couldn't find what I wanted. On the next site I found something I definitely didn't want....It was a porn site under the PB name and it was very graphic. I quickly closed it down and my pc went berserk....warnings flashed, I was asked if I wanted to download some programme to stop the Trojan....I had picked up. I have to say I was panicked and started to download but then realised I didn't recognise the programme's name so stopped the procedure. I then ran my own check and found I had indeed picked up this so called trojan horse. It's now safely deal with, but from then on my pc began acting strangely. No wonder the shock it had! So, the moral of this tale is -beware when google PB - or like me you'll get quite a lot more than a stamp!

TIP - Did you know?

I didn't until last week when I read a tip from a friend on another forum (thanks Storm), that if you are a DST user and that if you have trouble getting things positoned in the right place (like me) then......... try this. Put the tape on as usual - remove covering - run a prit stick lightly over tape, and hey presto the tape then becomes repositionable. AND, it works!

Triple embossing Tip

Chrissie (Simply One of a Kind ) recently shared with us her tips on triple embossing. I have been asked how did I achieve the initial on my recent 18th BC. The was also a form of embossing - I started with the first layer of powder on a chipboard initial, heated until melted, then I added glue from a prit stick in certain places, then powder, then melted again. This can be done a third time if need to give right effect and more texture. It can also cover up any rough areas on chipboard letters that seem to be inevitable on the letters I have! But, then they were cheap! Hope you find this useful, BFN Ikki
