Thank you card
After a lovely evening out with family, I just had to make a card. No pressure, like the last few Chriss cards (note to self - must start earlier) so I really enjoyed making this.
Thanks for dropping by, hope you too are relaxed after the hectic days pre Christmas.
Best wishes for 2009.

This week's challenge was a bit of a tester for me.
But, not to be defeatist, I had a go. AND, in doing so
went a bit over the tree so to speak. Reminded me
also, our tree is in the loft and it's very cold up there!
Paper by k-ology Hannah range - embossed with CB Texture folder
various bit and pieces from various boxes
Sorry about the poor colour- don't know what went wrong!

A commissioned card
I was asked to make a 60th Birthday card for my friend's sister.
The outline of the original stamped image (sent to me by Viv) was trim down and then coloured with prisma's. The white background was inked with blue, green and yellow chalk, blended, and then lacquered. I was really pleased with how this mottled effect turned out - something I had not tried before, but will again.
Cream linen cardstock
Papers from HOTP , CB Swiss Dots, Nesties and corners
Ribbon and gems from stash

This should have been for the PB Challenge, but...
I started this card for the PB challenge where the remit was to use NO patterned paper.
I began experimenting with my CB bells folder and at last managed to emboss three patterns without the folder's edge marking the card. Hooray! I achieved this by making a slightly smaller shape than the folder and adding extra thickness until it would emboss without using the top B plate. I then tape the numerous shims together to give me a permenant template, which I have written on in the hope that I will not lose it! This done, I decided to chalk the white linen card with red, gold and white glimmer.
I was so carried away by my sucess at embossing that at this point I forgot what
the card was for and so added a delightful funny porcelain image that a friend had salvaged from her last year's Chrissy cards. I thought I would return it to her reborn so to speak. But, alas it should have been a Penny Black image!!!!

Never mind, I have until Saturday to tried again and will try to remember what I'm supposed to be doing!
Thanks for dropping by.

OCC
I just love the challenges and DT cards on OCC. This is my take on this week's challenge.
Tag was made for this week's TYI challenge. I like to make tags and find a use for them - this fitted well and made a card for my granddaughter Megan aged 2. It's cheerful, glittery, textured and she really enjoyed making a snowman when it last snowed. Living in Edinburgh she won't have to wait long!
CB folder Snowflakes - Torn card in three layers - added stickles for texture.

Sketch Saturday
This week's challenge was for a sketch that I thought was interesting. So I had a go, and made this.
I used papers from HOTP
A stamped image that was sent to me in a swap, if anyone knows the make I would be interested to know. The flower so coloured with prisma pencils and given more dimension with glossy accents. The background was coloured with 3 shades of chalk.
I finished off with a bow and a few beads.
Thanks for dropping by.

I've had a lovely time
I have just returned from visiting my daughter and two beautiful granddaughters. Caitlin is 5 and Megan is 2, and guess what they both love crafting!
You can see why I enjoyed myself!
Watching big sis and waiting for her turn
Nan being told just where to cut the ribbon
Megan likes scrunching paper and lots of glue
You can see why I enjoyed myself!
Need a laugh and a warning - read on....
Hi, I'm back on line and thought I'd give you all a laugh and also a warning. Just before my pc went 'funny' I was on the lookout for a particular Penny Black sentiment stamp. Wanting, as crafters do, a good buy I googled Penny Black and found numerous sites. I clicked on several and had a look round but couldn't find what I wanted. On the next site I found something I definitely didn't want....It was a porn site under the PB name and it was very graphic. I quickly closed it down and my pc went berserk....warnings flashed, I was asked if I wanted to download some programme to stop the Trojan....I had picked up. I have to say I was panicked and started to download but then realised I didn't recognise the programme's name so stopped the procedure. I then ran my own check and found I had indeed picked up this so called trojan horse. It's now safely deal with, but from then on my pc began acting strangely. No wonder the shock it had! So, the moral of this tale is -beware when google PB - or like me you'll get quite a lot more than a stamp!

Tuesday 25th November
Hi Friends, just popped in on a very old computer usually in the shed to say hello - it's a very slow process to do anything but it least it's not as poorly as my own pc. I'm hoping (everything crossed) to be back to full speed soon. Really feel at a loss - I never realised just how much I relied on surfing. Hope to catch up with you all very soon. Ikki

Cuttlebug Challenge
I thought I couldn't manage this week's challenge because I don't have many dies suitable for embossing. BUT, I found a postage stamp die that came free with the bug and that I have never used, and ...... I came up with this....for a friend who loves black cards...
Black c/s embossed with snowflake folder and scored with eazi board
Tag in red hammer c/s embossed with snowflake with edges heat embossed in silver
Eyelet also heat embossed in silver (take care doing this not only when heating but also when closing eyelet.)
Embellishment for tag cut with postage stamp die and embossed with Wedding bell folder and then heat embossed in silver.
Silver double bow and peeloff to finish.
Unfortunately being black the picture doesn't show up very well.

A trio of Cuttlebug Christmas cards
I love messing about with my Cuttlebug and I came up with these designs. I've had the Nestie scalloped circles for ages and never found a use for them before. I was pleased with the results on these cards. They are simple, easy to do and a bit different.
I'm making cards this year for the North Staffs Breast Cancer Unit and hopefully these will sell. Hope you like them, thanks for looking. Ikki

Two challenges in one!
G.O.S.H
I have recent joined SBS#26 and one of my adopted sisters
Kate is hosting an appeal as follows:-
Great Ormond Street Hospital card appeal
One of the reasons why I think we love to craft is, not just for the pleasure we get from doing it, but also from the pleasure of giving something handmade to someone. As we come up to Christmas it's nice to think not only about our nearest and dearest that we are going to create for but also about those who may not be able to give a card to someone because they are in hospital, are sick, in the forces abroad or do not have the means.I'm setting up a scheme that I hope might grow and I'd love it if you could join me!
If you are interesting in helping Kate - you will find more info on her blog Yours Truly on the above link. She is so right in what she says about the pleasure we get from crafting and giving something handmade to someone.

Challenge Card
I have used the sketch from oh-la-la challenge.
It lacks something?!?!?!?
Red hammer cardstock, paper from HOTP matted on red card
Inkadinkado stamp coloured with prisma pencils and blended with sanador
gems and flowers from stash
I struggle to tear paper,
so in an effort to distress the card which I felt being an old santa suited the theme,
I have used a metal ruler on the edges and inked with black. Perhaps this is why it
didn't work? Or, is it the gems? They were a required element, but I'm not sure. Ikki
